EC announces Rangpur city polls schedule; vote on December 27

The Election Commission (EC) has set December 27 for voting in the Rangpur City Corporation election.
The EC announced the schedules for the polls following a meeting headed by Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal on Monday.
The announcement was made at a briefing by EC Secretary EC secretary Jahangir Alam.
“The deadline for filing nominations is November 29. Officials will verify the documents on December 1 while aspirants will get until December 8 to pull out from the races,” he said.
Polls symbols will be allotted to candidates on December 9, added the EC official.
