The father of the slain leader of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal in Brahmanbaria on Wednesday filed a case with the District Senior Judicial Magistrate Court accusing 18 policemen, including the district superintendent of police, over killing of his son in police firing on November 19.
Rahmat Ullah filed the case naming eight policemen and eight to 10 other unidentified cops, said the plaintiff’s lawyer Ariful Haque.
He said that the plaintiff accused the policemen of killing his son Nayan Mia.
The lawyer said that the court kept the case pending for passing an ‘appropriate order’.
The accused named in the case are Brahmanbaria SP Anisur Rahman, additional SP Mozammel Haque Reza, Bancharampur Police Station officer-in-charge Nure Alam, inspector (Investigation) Tarun Kanti Dey, sub-inspectors Afzal Hossain Khan and Bikiron Chaka and constables Biswajit Chandra Das and Shafiqul Islam.
Nayon, vice-president of Sonarampur union unit of JCD was shot dead allegedly by police firing in Bancharamapur upazila during a procession on November 19.
