A number of verse-makers gathered at Baatighar bookstore in the city’s Banglamotor on Monday, to attend the publishing ceremony of book ‘100 Poets Around The World for Love’.

Eminent Poets Joy Goswami, Professor Tapodhir Bhattacharya, Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed, Kamal Chowdhury and Professor Shamim Reza attended the ceremony as special guests, said a press release today.

Poet Shamim Shahan, editor of the book, presided over the event.

In his speech, Shamim said, “The anthology with poems of 100 poets has been published after long planning and online chats with numerous poets…And so, we can call the book a bond of love of one hundred poets from different countries of the world.”

Later, Poet Shahed Kayes delivered the welcome speech. Poet Sakira Parveen conducted the program.

Poets Farid Kabir, Jewel Mazhar, Asad Mannan, Mohammad Sadiq, Kumar Chakraborty, Junan Nashit, Altaf Shahnewaz, Monika Chakraborty, Sabera Tabasmum, Ayesha Jharna, Amir Khosru Swapan, Suman Farooq, Monizruzzaman Mintu, fiction writer Zakir Talukder and photographer Nasir Ali Mamun were present at the program, the release added.

Indian poets Bivas Roy Chowdhury, Gautam Guha Roy, Nikhilesh Roy, Banani Chakraborty and Shamim Ahmed were also present at the event.
