Vice president of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) Nurul Haque Nur on Tuesday claimed that a plan is underway to keep him behind bars after arresting him in the case lodged under Digital Security Act.
He made the allegations while talking to reporters after he was released from the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Tuesday morning.
The DUCSU VP also alleged that he was released hurriedly from the hospital so that he could be arrested in the case filed under the Digital Security Act.
On Friday, Arnab, a leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), filed a case against DUCSU VP Nur and Muhammad Rashed Khan, joint convener of Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Adhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad with the Dhanmondi Police Station under the Digital Security Act.
According to the case statement, they were sued for allegedly fomenting religious sentiment and spreading propaganda.
Earlier on Thursday, an attempt to murder case was also filed against Nurul Haque Nur following the December 22 clash at DUCSU office.
DM Sabbir Hossain, a member of Muktijuddha Mancha and also former vice president of BCL’s Zahurul Haque hall unit, filed the case naming Nur and 28 others with Shahbag Police Station.
