The High Court (HC) on Sunday issued a rule asking the authorities concerned to explain in four-week why they should not be directed to take necessary steps to appoint student counselors and clinical psychologist in all educational institutions of the country.
The HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman came up with the rule following a writ petition, filed recently in this regard.
Secretaries to ministries of public administration, education, health and family welfare, primary and mass education and University Grants Commission (UGC), director generals of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), Directorate of Primary Education and other officials concerned of the government have been made respondents to the rule.
