Chronic inflammation is the condition when the natural immune system of the body gets triggered. This can be due to a lot of underlying reasons. To address chronic inflammation, we need to address the reasons first.
Anjali Mukerjee shared a few tips:
Having an anti-inflammatory diet including fruits, vegetables and unprocessed food items helps in combating chronic inflammation.
Refined sugar, processed food items and alcohol should be avoided at all times.
Fishes such as salmon and sardines are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids – an important nutrient to combat chronic inflammation.
Refined carbohydrates can shoot up blood sugar levels and accelerate inflammation. Food items rich in refined carbohydrates such as white bread and white rice should be avoided.
We should also include a physical activity such as swimming, cycling or brisk walking in the daily routine.
Yoga, meditation and deep breathing help in reducing stress and relaxing the body, thereby reducing symptoms of inflammation.
