Ruling Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Saturday came down heavily on Bangladesh Nationalist Party and called it a ‘horrible blister’ in the country’s political landscape.
‘As long as this blister exists, there will be killings, conspiracies, terrorism, and unrest because BNP is the mastermind behind all these,’ Quader said after paying tribute to valiant freedom fighter Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal, eldest son of the country’s founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, on the occasion of his 74th birth anniversary in Dhaka’s Banani.
‘Ziaur Rahman was the mastermind behind the 1975 massacre. He was also behind the November 3 tragedy. The mastermind of August 21, 2004 was his son Tarique Rahman. Basically, this family started the politics of murder and conspiracy in Bangladesh,’ the road, transport and bridges minister said.
Quader also said, ‘BNP has once again resorted to the politics of terror and conspiracy to gain power through the backdoor, rather than through legitimate election.’
‘Mirza Fakhrul claims AL has been bowled out by their googly. But with a no ball, it doesn’t matter if it’s a googly,’ the AL leader remarked.
‘Despite today being Sheikh Kamal’s birthday, the nation is mourning due to the unthinkable tragedy of losing him’ Quader also said.
