Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said the next national elections will be participatory and many parties are ready to participate in it.
“There will be no result of daydreaming of the government’s fall. The next national elections will be participatory. Many parties are ready to participate in it. BNP is not the only opposition party,” he told reporters after announcing the date of inauguration of Dhaka Elevated Expressway at Setu Bhaban in the city.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Alamgir is saying that changes are definitely happening before the next polls.
“BNP has many daydreams getting from the air and they have been daydreaming. But there will be no result,” he added.
The AL general secretary reiterated that there would be no chance of restoring the caretaker government system before the elections and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would not resign too.
“No more caretaker government. There will be no election under the caretaker government. The Prime Minister will not resign too,” he added.
Quader said during the political parties’ meeting with the US Congressmen, no US congressman talked about the caretaker government or Sheikh Hasina’s resignation.
“We want peaceful elections. BNP creates anarchy. They (BNP men) have been carrying out attacks and vandalising in the name of rallies,” he added.
