The High Court has sent Ideal School and College girl married to donor member of the board of governors of the institution to safe custody.
A Division Bench comprising Justice Sheikh Md Zakir Hossain and Justice AKM Zahirul Haque passed the order on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the HC granted anticipatory bail for six weeks to Khandaker Mushtaq Ahmed, donor member of the board of governors of the famed educational institution, in a case filed by father of the girl for marrying her through temptation and fraudulence.
The previous day, another bench of the HC refused to hear the bail petition of Khandaker Mushtaq Ahmed.
On August 1, father of the victim girl filed a case with Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-8 in Dhaka against Khandaker Mushtaq Ahmed and principal of the institution over the marriage.
Allegations against Mushtaq
According to case dossier, Mushtaq Ahmed used to visit the educational institution to meet the 11th grader on various pretexts. The lady principal allegedly facilitated their meetings in her room.
At one stage, Mushtaq gave indecent proposal which was rejected by the girl. Finally, he picked up the girl and married her on coercion. He also threatened to cause harm to her parents and other family members.
How the girl went to safe custody
The college girl accompanied her husband during bail hearing. In her statement to court, she claimed to have married willingly. The Justices heard claims of her father. To remove confusion about age, the court sent her to safe custody for physical examination.
