Man crushed under train in Nilphamari

A man was crushed under the wheels of a train at Sarkarpara area on Chilahati-Saidpur railways of the district town on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Prokash Chandra Roy, 56, son of late Lal Mohan Burman, resident of Devirdanga village of the district. He was a district assistant information officer.
Saidpur GRP Police Station sub-inspector (SI) Md. Moniruzzaman said he died on the spot after being crushed under the wheels of the Barendra Express train from Chilahati to Rajshahi, while he was crossing the rail line around 6am.
The body was recovered and sent to Nilphamari General Hospital morgue for post-mortem, he said.
The body will be handed over to the family after the post mortem, he added.
