A Dhaka court on Wednesday accepted the charges against expelled Jubo League leader Khalid Mahmud Bhuiyan in a case filed under the Arms Act.
Judge KM Emrul Kayesh of the Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court of Dhaka took cognizance of the charge against Khalid in his presence.
The judge also fixed February 12 for the next hearing of the case.
On November 19 last year, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Assistant Superintendent of police Belayet Hossain, also the investigation officer of the case, submitted a charge sheet against him before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court of Dhaka in the case.
Khalid, also president of Fakirerpool Youngmen’s Club, was arrested in Dhaka’s Gulshan area by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on September 18 for running an illegal casino inside the sporting club.
