Sylhet road accident kills 2

Two motorcyclists including a Union Parishad chairman were killed in a road accident on the Sylhet-Bholaganj Bangabandhu Sheik Mujibur Rahman Highway in Salutikor area under Gowainghat upazila in Sylhet district early Sunday.
The victims are Mohammad Ishaq, 35, chairman of the Jalalabad Union Parishad of Sylhet sadar upazila and M Hafizur Rahman, 34, a resident of Payra area of Sylhet city.
Officer-in-charge of Gowainghat Police Station KM Nazrul Islam said, on their way to Sylhet City from Companiganj, a truck collided head-on with their cycle at about 2:00am, injuring both of them critically.
Later, they were rushed to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical Hospital where an on-duty doctor declared them dead.
A case was filed in this connection.
