New Zealand won the toss and decided to bowl first against England in the 13th edition of the Cricket World Cup-2023 opener at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
Kane Williamson, Lockie Ferguson, Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee have been rested while England opted to rest Ben Stokes for the first match.
