Terming former military strongman Ziaur Rahman as ‘introducer of multi-party democracy’, DUCSU vice president (VP) Nurul Haque Nur has paid homage to the BNP founder through a Facebook status marking his 84th birth anniversary.
BNP and its associate bodies on Sunday observed the 84th birth anniversary of its founder Ziaur Rahman, former president and founder of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) Vice President Nurul Haque Nur on Sunday posted a Facebook status, where he wrote: “The countrymen will ever remember Ziaur Rahman for his contribution to the Great Liberation War.”
“Marking his 84th birth anniversary, today (Sunday) I remember valiant freedom fighter of the 1971 war fields and introducer of multi-party democracy Shaheed (martyr) Ziaur Rahman (Bir Uttam). You (Ziaur Rahman) will be ever remembered by the countrymen for your contribution to the Great Liberation War, no matter how much debate the party-biased people create,” the Facebook status reads.
