67% MPs businessmen, 90% billionaires: SHUJAN

Shushashoner Jonno Nagorik (SHUJAN) has unveiled a report claiming around 90 percent of lawmakers elected in the 12th parliamentary election are billionaires while 67 percent are businessmen.
The number of businessmen and millionaire lawmakers has increased in the 12th parliamentary election compared to the 11th national polls, SHUJAN, a nonprofit private organisation disclosed the data in a virtual press conference on Thursday.
While presenting the facts during the virtual press conference, Dilip Kumar Sarker, central coordinator of SHUJAN, said that the report has been prepared to analyze the affidavit data of the winning parliamentarians in the recently concluded national election.
