12 shops burnt in Dariapur Bazar fire in Gaibandha

At least 12 shops, including a grocery store, pharmacy, clothing outlets, and a salon, were burnt in a fire at Dariapur Bazar of Gaibandha Sadar upazila on Monday night.
The fire started at about 11:30pm at one of the grocery shops of Dariapur Bazar, according to Nasim Reza, the station officer of Gaibandha Fire Service and Civil Defence.
The fire quickly spread to adjacent shops, causing widespread damage.
A team of firefighters from the local station, in association with local people, brought the fire under control at about 1:00am.
The extent of damage caused by the fire was estimated at Tk 1.5 crore.
