The Border Guard Bangladesh on Thursday handed over a total of 330 intruders from Myanmar to Border Guard Police, said a press release issued by BGB headquarters in Dhaka.
The handover to BGP was completed in the morning with the supervision of BGB Cox’s Bazar region.
The intruders include 302 members of BGP, four members of a family of BGP member, two army personnel, 18 immigration officials and four civilians, the release said.
The intruders were handed over to Myanmar authorities in the morning at the Naval Jetty in Inani of Cox’s Bazar, according to officials.
The BGB director general, Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, and the Myanmar envoy to Bangladesh, U Aung Kyaw Moe, were present at the handover ceremony.
The 330 members of Myanmar forces and other officials crossed the border and took shelter in Bangladesh amid the conflict going on in Myanmar.
