An accused in 32 cases, including murder, firearms and explosives, was hacked to death reportedly by his rivals in Jashore district town on Friday night.
The killing took place around 10pm at Railgate Paschimpara area in the town.
The deceased was identified as Ramjan Ali, 30, son of Fayez Sheikh, a resident of the aforesaid area.
According to the victim’s family members, Ramjan was walking in front of his home. At that time, one ‘Picchi Raja’ hacked him with a sharp weapon and fled the scene, leaving him critically injured.
Relatives took him to Jashore Sadar Hospital where the physicians declared him dead.
Dr Khandakar Rezwan Jaman confirmed the death matter, adding that, there are several stab wounds in the chest and backside of the body.
Meanwhile, police said Ramjan was known as the top terror and drug dealer of the area. He was made accused in 32 cases, including seven firearms cases, five explosive cases, one murder case, one robbery case, four attempted to murder cases and seven other cases including drugs.
On information, police have visited the spot and efforts are on to arrest the involved person, said Juwel Imran, Additional Superintendent of Police in Jashore.
