The body of a female student of Dhaka University was recovered from her house at the university’s residential quarter on Fuller Road on early Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Adrita Binte Mosharraf, 21, a first year student of the management department and daughter of the department’s head Professor Mosharaff Hossain.

She used to live with her family on the third floor of the residential building number 19 on DU campus.

Family members said that Adrita committed suicide on early Sunday. Seeing her body hanging from the ceiling fan of her room, family members informed police.

Being informed, Shahbagh Police Station’s officer-in-charge Mostazirur Rahman said that they rushed to the spot and recovered the body.

The body was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival at about 7:30am, he said.
