Jaya Ahsan, Tasnia Farin and Shohel Mondol got Filmfare Awards Bangla

Three Bangladeshi actors Jaya Ahsan, Tasnia Farin and Shohel Mondol have received Joy Filmfare Awards Bangla-2024, the Tollywood prestigious awards for cinema.

Jaya Ahsan has adjudged the Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Female) for “Ardhangini”.  The actress has received the award for fourth time.

Meanwhile, Tasnia Farin took home her first Filmfare Award for Best Debut Actress for the film “Aro Ek Prithib” while Shohel Mondol has secured the award as the Best Debut Actor for his role in the film “Mayar Jonjal”.

The seventh edition of the Joy Filmfare Awards Bangla was held at the ITC Royal Bengal in Kolkata on Friday night.

Jaya Ahsan is very happy after getting the award for the fourth time. She shared her feeling with  fans in a Facebook post on Friday. “For the 4th time I’ve been honored with Filmfare Award Bengla. Sincere thanks to Filmfare authorities and Jury Board. I owe this award to Kaushik Da, the producer of Surinder Films, Churni Di and all the cast and crew of my  film, producers and all my well-wishers, journalist brothers and sisters in West Bengal and Bangladesh”, the post reads.

It may be mentioned that, five Bangladeshi artistes, actors Jaya Ahsan, Tasnia Farin, Aupee Karim, Shohel Mondol and singer Mahtim Shakib, were nominated for the Tollywood prestigious awards.

Jaya Ahsan was nominated for Best Actress Award in a leading role (female) for “Dawshom Awbotaar” and Best Actress in a supporting role (female) for “Ardhangini”.

Tasnia Farin secured nominations for her debut Tollywood film “Aaro Ek Prithibi”. She was   nominated for Best Actress (critics) and Best Debutant in female category.

 Aupee Karim earned a nomination for the film “Mayar Jonjal” in the Best Actress (critics) category. Shohel Mondol was nominated in the Best Actor in a supporting role (male) category for “Mayar Jonjal.”

And Mahtim Shakib earned a nomination for Best playback singer for the song “Tumi Jantei Paronna” from the film “Cheeni-2”.
