Noted media personality Hanif Sanket has been regularly portraying our folk culture, history and traditions with foreign nationals for more than two centuries through magazine show Ityadi. Initially, the issue was limited to 10 to 12 foreigners, but now the number sometimes reaches hundreds. And through them, our culture is spreading to different parts of the world.
Our folk culture, rural superstitions, various inconsistencies, social problems, rural sports etc. are presented by playing the role of simple village people in Bengali language instead of the foreigners’ mother tongue. These events culminated in a wonderful speech. Hanif Sanket has been making this episode with foreigners every Eid.
40 foreigners to perform in Eid-special Ityadi Like previous Eids, the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr will also air a special episode with foreigners living in Dhaka.
The episode is about the violence of middlemen in the marketing of agricultural products in the market and various problems of marginal farmers. Along with this there is a dance performance with foreign participation to a song.
Over 40 citizens of different countries, including USA, Australia, Japan, Germany, Italy, China, Ireland, Nigeria, Norway, Philippines have performed in this special episode. In spite of their busy schedules, foreigners rehearse for Ityadi in their holidays.
About the working experience with foreigners, Hanif Sanket said, “They are amateurs, but many professional artistes also have a lot to learn from them. I’m impressed by the punctuality, devotion, concentration, patience and sincerity of the foreigners. I hope the audience will enjoy the foreign episode of Ityadi very much.
The Eid special Ityadi will be aired simultaneously on BTV and BTV World at 8:30pm after Eid day.
