The Shah Amanat International Airport, Chattogram and the Chittagong Port Authority suspended all their regular work from Sunday morning due to cyclone ‘Remal’.

The Chittagong Port Authority asked all the vessels to go outer anchorage last night, and all the port activities were suspended immediately after met office advice to hoist Danger Signal 9 early Sunday.

Omar Faruk, secretary of the Chittagong Port Authority, said that 13 vessels had moved to the outer anchorage to go to the deep sea.

He said that all loading and unloading activities of cargo and containers at the port jetties remained suspended from Sunday morning.

The airport director group captain Taslim Ahmed said that Shah Amanat International Airport had suspended all the flight schedule and close the runway from 12:00 noon to 08:00 pm for Sunday.

He said that all scheduled flights landed at the airport on time until 12:00 noon.
