Cyclone Remal: Leave of all govt officials cancelled

The government has cancelled the leave of officials and employees of all ministries, divisions, and departments along with city corporations and municipalities to tackle the aftermath of the severe cyclonic storm Remal.

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Md Mohibbur Rahman announced it after an inter-ministerial meeting at the secretariat in Dhaka on Sunday.

Cyclone Remal is set to hit the southern coasts of Bangladesh and parts of neighbouring India by midnight on Sunday, with gusts of up to 130km per hour.

Meanwhile, the Met office issued Great Danger Signal 10 for the maritime ports of Payra and Mongla, and Great Danger Signal 9 for the maritime ports of Cox’s Bazar and Chattogram.
