The law, justice and parliamentary affairs minister, Anisul Huq, on Thursday said that the government was ready to discuss anytime with the students demanding quota reforms in government jobs about the latters’ demands.
The government decision came on the day when the quota protesters were enforcing a complete shutdown across Bangladesh.
‘Prime minister has given the responsibility to me, means law minister, and education minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury. We will sit with them. If they want to sit today, we will sit with them anytime,’ he said while talking to reporters at the parliament.
He said that the government would appeal on Sunday for an early hearing, instead of August 7, the scheduled date for hearing on quota issue in the Appellate Division.
He said that a one-member judicial probe committee was formed to investigate the killings during quota protests.
