Law Adviser of the interim government of Bangladesh Professor Asif Nazrul on Wednesday said that the government had initiated a move to hold trials of ‘mass killing’ committed during anti-discrimination student movement from July 1 to August 5 under the International Crimes Tribunal.
Briefing reporters at his office, he said that all the cases against student protesters in Dhaka would be withdrawn by tomorrow (Thursday) and such cases filed across the country during the time would be withdrawn by August 31.
Asif Nazrul also informed that cases filed against journalist Rozina Islam and Nagorik Oikya president Mahmudur Rahman Manna would also be withdrawn.
Moreover, the passport of Rozina had been returned to her, he added.
