Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Tuesday predicted light to moderate rains across Bangladesh in 24 hours commencing 9:00am.

Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at most places over Dhaka, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country, said a Met office bulletin.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.

The country’s highest 175mm of rainfall was recorded in Cumilla in 24 hours till 6:00pm on Tuesday.

The country’s highest temperatures were recorded in Rangpur’s Tetulia at 34.3 degrees Celsius over the past 24 hours till 6:00pm Tuesday while the lowest temperature was in Chattogram’s Rangamati at 24.5 degrees Celsius.
