A case has been filed against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former MP Shamim Osman and 36 others in connection with the killing of 10-year-old Hussain during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Siddhirganj upazila of Narayanganj.
The victim’s father Manik Mia filed the case with Siddhirganj Police Station on Wednesday evening.
Former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and former Road Transport Minister Obaidul Quader have also been accused in the case, among others.
According to the case statement, on 21 July, members of the Awami League and its affiliated organisations, acting under the direction of the named suspects, attacked protesting students in Siddhirganj’s Shimrail area using shotguns, pistols and other weapons. Hussain was shot in front of the Dutch-Bangla Bank in the area and died on the spot.
This case adds to the three separate murder cases already filed with Siddhirganj Police Station related to the killings during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
