The chief justice, Syed Refaat Ahmed, on Sunday ordered ensuring defendants’ lawyers’ presence without any hindrance to courts.
The chief justice also asked the courts to provide state-legal aid panel lawyers to defend accused people if they didn’t have any lawyers.
The directive was issued on Sunday in a notification issued by the Supreme Court registrar general Aziz Ahmed Bhuiyan.
The chief justice said that providing legal assistance to the accused people who are produced before the courts, is essential to ensure justice and the rule of law.
