Muhammad Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), confirmed the matter saying aggrieved Mohammad Enamul Haque filed the case with Kafrul Police Station naming 19 people including Joy and Palak and 15 to 19 unnamed ones under Cyber Security Act and some sections under Penal Code.
According to the case statement, accused Joy, former ICT adviser to Hasina, and Palak permitted one Digicon Global Services Ltd to do business with several farms by using the NID information without ensuring national and personal safety.
The NID information was sold to 182 organisations in home and abroad, it reads.
