Former lawmaker for Dhaka-7 Mohammad Solaiman Salim was arrested in the capital’s Gulshan area on early Thursday.
Confirming the matter, Dhaka Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner for media and public relations Muhammad Talebur Rahman said that a team of Chakbazar police station arrested Salim in Gulshan area.
‘Salim is accused in several cases, including murder filed with Lalbagh and Chawkbazar police stations,’ Taleblur told New Age.
He said that the police would produce Salim before the court on Thursday.
Mohammad Solaiman Salim, son of former Awami League-backed lawmaker Haji Salim, was elected as lawmaker in January 7 general elections, boycotted by major opposition political parties, including Bangladesh Nationalist Party.
