A day after the first cases of coronavirus was confirmed in the country yesterday, no fresh infection from the new virus was reported on Monday, according to the Institute of Epidemiology, Diseases Control and Research (IEDCR).
Professor Meerjady Sabrina Flora, director of the IEDCR, came up with the development at a media briefing on the latest coronavirus situation at her office in the capital Mohakhali area on Monday noon.
As none of the country was infected with the November 2029 coronavirus in last 24 hours, the number of the confirmed virus cases remained unchanged.
During the briefing, Meerjady Sabrina Flora urged the Bangladeshis, returning from foreign countries across the globe, to be self-quarantined for 14 days to contain the spread of the coronavirus infections in the country.
Earlier on Sunday, the IEDCR confirmed that three Bangladeshis were infected with coronavirus (COVID-19).
Of the coronavirus infected Bangladeshis, two have recently returned from Italy and are being treated at a hospital in the capital while a family member of one of the two is the third person affected with the virus.
