Gonoshasthaya Kendra has claimed that it had developed its own rapid Covid-19 testing kit, which is able to give results result in 15 minutes.

In a statement on Tuesday, the hospital authorities said the testing kits to labs and vendors and with regulatory measures from the government at a cost of Tk 200-250 each.

However, the hospital it was now awaiting permission from authorities concerned in this regard, according to the statement.

“We hope to produce the testing kits to labs and vendors and with regulatory measures from the government at a cost of Tk200-250 each, while general people can do the test within Tk 300,” the statement read.

Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Zafrullah Chowdhury said the kit, jointly developed by a team from Singapore and Gonoshasthaya-RNA Biotech Limited, comes to reduce testing kit scarcity in Bangladesh.
