As coronavirus continues to spread across the country, 547 doctors of both private and public hospitals have so far been infected with the virus as of Tuesday, said Foundation for Doctors Safety Rights and Responsibility (FDSR) a forum of physicians.
Foundation for Doctors Safety Rights and Responsibilities (FDSR) revealed the development in a press release on Tuesday.
“Among the infected doctors, 411 are in Dhaka division alone,” said FDSR
Among the total infected doctors, 11 tested positive for the deadly virus in a span of 24 hours, the FDSR sources.
According to the press release, 61 doctors were infected in Mymensingh division, while 30 in Khulna, 17 in Chattogram, 9 in Barishal, 7 in Sylhet, 9 in Rangpur and 3 in Rajshahi division.
Bangladesh has so far reported 182 fatalities and 10,143 coronavirus cases.
Bangladesh confirmed its first coronavirus cases on March 8 and the first death on March 18.
