Rape accused killed in Noakhali ‘gunfight’

A man, who allegedly raped a minor girl on Saturday night, was killed in a gunfight with police in Senbag upazila in Noakhali on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Mizanur Rahman, hailing from Nawtala area of Sonaimuri upazila.

Confirming the news, Abdul Baten Mridha, officer-in-charge (OC) of Senbag police Station, said that three police members were also injured in the gunfight.

Law enforcers also recovered a LG and two rounds of bullets from the spot, he said.
