Husband, wife electrocuted in Tangail

A man and his wife have been electrocuted at Pekua Abhirampur village of Mirzapur upazila in Tangail on Sunday morning.
The deceased are Md Shahjahan Mia, 30, and his wife Belena Begum, 25, of the same area.
According to locals, Anik, son of the deceased, came into the contact with a live electric wire while he was going to field beside his residence at about 7:00 am. At one stage, Shahjahan, his wife Belena came to save their son and they also came in contact with the live electric wire, leaving them severely injured.
Later, locals took the injured to Mirzapur Kumudini Hospital where duty doctor declared Shahjahan and Belena dead.
Saiful Islam, sub-inspector(SI) of Bashtail Police Outpost, confirmed the matter to media.
