Coronavirus: Global death toll climbs to 854,767

The novel coronavirus has killed 854,767 people in the  213 countries and territories since the virus emerged in Wuhan of China last December, according to latest data from worldometer.

So far, 25,637,634 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus worldwide at 10:40 am till Tuesday (04:40 GMT).

Of them, 17,941,991 patients have been considered recovered, the source said.

 

Apart from this, the number of active cases are 6,840,876.

With the fresh tally in the 48-hour, 7,989 people died from coronavirus while 468,085 infections have been diagnosed, and 432,686 patients have made fully recovery.

Among the coronavirus affected countries, the US has gone up to 187,736 deaths, followed by Brazil with 121,515; Mexico 64,414; India 65,435; Italy 35,483; France 30,635; Iran 21,571; Russia 17,176; Indonesia 7,417; Iraq 7,042; Pakistan 6,298; China 4,634; Bangladesh 4,281; Saudi Arabia 3,897; UAE 384 and Malaysia 127 respectively, worldometer reported.
