The number of fatalities from the mosque blast in Narayanganj has climbed to 27 as one more victims died at Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Imon, 30.
He breathed his last at around 1:30pm in the hospital while undergoing treatment.
Earlier on Sunday, five more people succumbed to their burn injuries.
The victims are Monir Farazi, 30, and Abul Bashar Molla, 51, died on Sunday night. The others who died earlier in the day were Julhas Uddin, 35, Mohammad Ali Master, 55, and Shamim Hasan, 45.
Another 9 people are battling for their lives at the hospital, Dr Samanta Lal Sen, coordinator of the Institute, said.
Officer-in-charge of Fatullah Model Police Aslam Hossain said that the authorities have handed the bodies of 24 victims over to their families.
Some 40 people suffered burn injuries as all the air conditioners of the mosque exploded during Esha prayers in Fatullah, Narayanganj on Friday night. One of the injured died at night.
Locals said the incident took place around 8:45 pm at Baitus Salam Mosque when the devotees had just finished their prayers. An air conditioner went off and sparked a fire inside the mosque. Later, the remaining six ACs exploded there, leaving the 40 devotees injured.
