22-day ban on catching, selling Hilsa from October 14

The government has decided to impose a 22-day ban on catching all kinds of fishes from October 14 to November 04 at the Hilsa breeding centres with a view to ensuring safe spawning of the national fish during its peak breeding period.

During this time, catching, selling, storing and transporting of Hilsa will be prohibited across the country, reports our correspondent.
