Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday opined that it is not the high time to hold the Higher Secondary School (HSC) examinations as the country is likely to face second wave of coronavirus.
The premier expressed the opinion while speaking at a meeting of Awami League Local Government Public Representative Nomination Board held at her official Ganabhaban residence in the capital.
Sheikh Hasina said that she will give her decision about the examinations when the corona situation became normal, said some AL leaders who were present in the meeting.
Questioning the justification of delaying exams, agriculture minister Abdur Razzak in the meeting proposed to hold exams immediately as normalcy returns to every sector.
PM heavily came down upon him making a counter question as to why the government should be in a hurry to hold the exams. Many countries are going through a second wave and Bangladesh may not be an exception.
The government will not only put exams on hold but also physical classes, she said.
“Wait for the country to subjugate Covid 19. I will pick you up on time,”, Sheikh Hasina added.
