DSCC to launch drive against battery-run rickshaws Monday

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Nur Taposh has directed the authorities concerned to conduct mobile court drives against battery-run rickshaws and vans on the roads in the capital.
The DSCC mayor came up with the instruction at a meeting on revenue collection at Nagar Bhaban on Sunday.
DSCC Chief Estate Officer Rasel Sabrin said the mayor passed the order to eliminate illegal battery-run rickshaws and vans from October 5 in order to bring discipline on the roads in the capital.
Two executive magistrates have been appointed for conducting the operation, he added.
