A Dhaka court has set January 21 to submit investigation report in a case filed against six people, including former vice-president (VP) of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu) Nurul Haque Nur, for allegedly abetting and raping a Dhaka University (DU) female student.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Yasmin Ara passed the order as the concerned investigation officer failed to submit the report on Tuesday.
On September 20, 2020, the DU student filed the case against Nur and five others with Lalbagh police station.
The other accused are Hasan Al Mamun, Nazmul Hasan Sohagh, Md Saiful Islam, Md Nazmul Huda, and Abdullah Hil Baki.
All of the accused in the cases are members and leaders of Bangladesh Students’ Rights Council and are current and former students of Dhaka University.
According to the case statement, the reported rape incident took place on January 3, 2020, when the prime accused Hasan Al Mamun, convener of the student body, allegedly raped the victim.
