The government has directed the authorities concerned to complete the admission process of government primary schools by February.
The Department of Primary Education sent the directives to all departmental deputy directors and district officers of primary education in this regard on Tuesday.
Educational institutions in Bangladesh, including primary school, have been closed since mid-March to contain Covid-19 transmission.
The department also asked the schools not to take admission test for the student of pre-primary to class V.
It further said that it should be ensured that all students in the catchment area is admitted in government primary schools from pre-primary to class one.
In the registration form, names, addresses and necessary information of the students have to be written for admission in the respective class.
Admission of students should be ensured by following health guidelines given by government.
Sick teachers, students, staffs and pregnant teachers should be prevented from attending schools, it said.
It further said that students, who have been left out of school due to the closure of private kindergartens over Covid-19, will have to admit in the respective clusters.
