Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal said on Thursday that he will miss the upcoming T20 series against New Zealand for personal reasons.
The opener said that he is not available in the T20 series and has communicated it to the team management.
“I have communicated it to the team management and the head coach and I hope all the best for the team,” Tamim said in a zoom press conference ahead of the three-match ODI series opener on March 20 (Saturday) at 4:00am (BST).
Tamim is the second senior to miss the T20 series after ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, opted not to travel to New Zealand taking paternity leave.
The three ODIs will be played on March 20, 23 and 26 in Dunedin, Christchurch and Wellington respectively, while the three T20Is will take place on March 28, 30 and April 1 in Hamilton, Napier and Auckland.
