Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Mahmudullah will lead the side as they begin their campaign in the first round taking on Scotland in their opening game on October 17.
The BCB also named leg-spinner Aminul Islam and pacer Rubel Hossain as standby.
“We have been doing well in T20Is for a while now. We hope we can do well in the World Cup,” Minhajul Abedin, the chief selector of BCB, told the media on Thursday while announcing the squad.
The World Cup is scheduled to be hosted jointly by Oman and United Arab Emirates, starting next month.
Bangladesh will face Oman and Papua New Guinea on October 19 and 21 respectively, hoping to be one of the top two teams from Group B to progress to the next round, the Super 12s.
