Efforts on to pass law to appoint CEC, EC in current parliament session

Law minister Anisul Huq said on Thursday that efforts were on for the enactment of a bill to appoint chief election commissioner and election commissioners in the current parliament session to constitute the Election Commission of Bangladesh.
He told reporters that the deputy commissioners were informed about the government move to enact the new law as the cabinet had approved a draft bill in this regard on Monday.
He was briefing reporters after attending a business session with the DCs during their annual conference at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka.
