Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BAJUS) is going to organise a three-day gold fair for the first time in the country, commemorating the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The gold fair is scheduled to start at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital on March 17, the birthday of Bangabandhu.
BAJUS has decided to organise the fair during a view-exchange meeting of its district-level leaders held in Bashundhara Residential Area of the capital with its president Sayem Sobhan Anvir in the chair.
“We hope that many buyers and sellers from home and abroad will participate in the gold fair,” BAJUS President Sayem Sobhan Anvir said in his concluding speech at the meeting.
‘BAJUS Gold Fair-2022’ will be inaugurated on the auspicious occasion of the birthday of great architect of independence and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, he mentioned.
According to the meeting sources, many important and meaningful discussions and decisions have taken place in the two-day meeting with the BAJUS district-level leaders.
The BAJUS president has decided to organise a three-day ‘BAJUS Gold Fair-2022’ from March 17 this year.
During the meeting, Sayem Sobhan Anvir, also Managing Director of Bashundhara Group, said there are various crises in the jewellery sector, including VAT. Jewellery traders across the country must be united to solve the crises.
“BAJUS Fair will be another powerful platform for gold traders to become united,” he said, calling upon all the jewellery traders across the country to become a member of the organisation and forge a strong unity.
After being elected as BAJUS president, Sayem Sobhan Anvir has started working with the promise to solve various problems of gold traders.
His announcement of setting gold refinery has got a tremendous response, opening up a new era.
As a result, it will play a strong role in the economy by exporting jewellery abroad.
Drawing the attention of the Prime Minister for flourishing the gold industry, Sayem Sobhan Anvir said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been with our side for development of jewellery industry. I firmly believe that the Prime Minister will provide maximum policy support for traders for the export of jewellery products. If jewellery products are exported, traders as well as society, the country and the nation will become more respected all over the world.”
Calling upon traders of jewellery sector, Sayem Sobhan Anvir said, “You should set up jewellery factory in the country and put your focus on exports. Through the export of jewellery products, Bangladesh will go one step ahead on the path of building ‘Sonar Bangla’ expected by the great architect of the country, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Bangladesh will stand with its head high on the world stage.”
