They also demanded the formulation of a modern and inclusive OTT policy by considering the opinions of all stakeholders and the authorities concerned consulted before filing a case against a film or content.

Filmmakers Nasiruddin Yousuff, Gausul Alam Shaon, Morshedul Islam, SA Haque Alik, Amitabh Reza Chowdhury, actors Tariq Anam Khan, Chanchal Chowdhury and others were present during the meeting.

‘We met the information and broadcasting minister Hasan Mahmud and submitted the memorandum of demands on Monday. We have got a positive response from him,’ freedom fighter and filmmaker Nasiruddin Yousuff told New Age on Tuesday.

‘I was surprised when I came to know that a case was filed against Hawa. Steps have been taken to withdraw the case,’ Hasan Mahmud told media on Monday.

Earlier, on August 25, film professionals demanded freedom to tell stories and placed five-point demand, including immediate withdrawal of the case filed against the film Hawa under the Wildlife Conservation and Safety Act, at a press conference held at the Nasrul Hamid Auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity in the capital.
