“Imprisoned chairperson of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Khaleda Zia is becoming a victim of medical terrorism,” party senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said on Monday.
“The authorities of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) have created a situation of medical terrorism regarding the treatment of Khaleda Zia following government instructions,” he alleged.
Rizvi made the allegations at a press conference at the BNP central office in the capital’s Nayapaltan this morning.
The BNP leader also claimed that the government is conspiring to kill Khaleda Zia in jail without providing her treatment.
He also informed that his party has decided to hold protest rallies across the country, including in the capital, on December 30 to observe what it says ‘democracy-killing day’, marking the first anniversary of the 11th parliamentary election.
Rizvi said, “BNP will observe December 30 as ‘democracy killing day’. We’ve decided to hold protest rallies across the country on the day.”
The party leaders and activists all over the country will wear black badges while black flags will be hoisted atop all of its party offices, including Nayapaltan central one, the same day to register the party’s protest against the December-30 national election held last year, he added.
