Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Qauder has said their party’s full-fledged committee will be announced on Thursday.
He made the disclosure while talking to reporters after attending a party presidium meeting at Ganabhaban on Tuesday.
Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said the full-fledged committee along with the party’s advisory council members will start its journey after placing wreaths at the grave of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara on December 3.
“The committee will have both new and old faces,” he said.
Replying to a query, Quader said whether the ministers who lost their posts would be included in the 39-member list or not, he said it depends on the party chief’s decision.
On December 21, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was unanimously reelected president of Bangladesh Awami League for the straight 9th time at the party’s 21st triennial national council.
Obaidul Quader was also reelected unopposed general secretary of the party for the second term.
Party councillors elected them for the next three years on the second day of the two-day council at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh in the city.
Three new faces — Shajahan Khan, Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman– were inducted into the AL presidium, while no-one of the 14 presidium members of the previous committee was dropped from the party’s highest decision-making body.
