Filmmaker Akram Khan-directed film titled Nakshi Kanthar Jamin bagged award at the Bengaluru International Film Festival in India, said a press release.
The film starring noted actress Jaya Ahsan jointly bagged the third Best Film Award in the Asian Competition category at the 14th edition of the festival, which was held from March 23 to 30.
The film shared the award with Viratapura Viraagi.
Akram Khan said, ‘We are very delighted as the film bagged award at the festival. I would like to thank the people associated with the film.’
Based on Independence Award-winning fiction writer Hasan Azizul Huq’s literary work titled Bidhabader Katha and produced by TM Films, the film depicts the War of Independence of Bangladesh.
Besides Jaya Ahsan, Fariha Sheuti, Iresh Zaker, Rawnak Hasan, Dibya and Soumya have portrayed different roles in the film.
